This week kicked off our month-long focus on the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. As part of this effort, the International Mission Board is leading a national week of prayer for our missionaries from December 2-9. Commit to spending time in prayer each day for our missionaries. If you have children, consider leading your whole family in a time of prayer. I have summarized the information below, but you can go to the IMB website for more information or to sign up for a daily email. The Pepper Family
“I was beginning to see the world through God’s eyes in terms of lostness,” Larry said. “For me, that meant seeing if I could use my medical skills in a way that had more kingdom impact.” So more than two decades ago, he, his wife, Sally, and their three children packed up and moved to Africa—first to Uganda, then Lesotho and Tanzania. Over the years, the Peppers have spent countless hours at the bedside of the hurting, leading them to lasting hope in Christ. “We have seen God’s faithfulness throughout all of these years as we’re worked here,” Larry said. “It has been humbling and incredible to watch.” How to Pray1. PRAY for Larry and Sally to maintain endurance in their medical ministry and have open doors to disciple the people they meet.
2. PRAY for God to call out more workers to leave the United States and serve among the unreached overseas. Pray for them to be sensitive to His leading and obedient to the call.

December 1st is the beginning of the season of advent, the time Christians throughout history have traditionally started preparing their hearts and minds to celebrate the coming of the Savior at Christmas. One of the best ways to do that is by building our anticipation with daily reading and reflection on Scriptures about the coming of Jesus. Desiring God is an organization that has provided a fantastic resource for daily advent readings. I encourage you to download it and read each day starting on December 1st. Here is an excerpt from the introduction and a link to find the whole document. “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.” - John 17:24 |
